My Teaching Style


I teach yoga classes with a calisthenics (gymnastics-style body weight training) edge, integrating meditation and pranayama (breathing) techniques with asanas (physical postures) in the Vinyasa, Rocket, Ashtanga and Yin styles - respecting yoga’s mystical and physiological benefits, but recognising that there is beauty to be experienced and fun to be had in movement. I also incorporate Mindfulness Meditation into my classes.

I believe that mental and emotional well-being are significantly enhanced when the physical body is strengthened; we become better able to cope with life’s inevitable challenges, and to stand firm and grounded in a changing world. Of course, the definition of physical strength differs from person to person, and I encourage each student to push their own mental and physical boundaries whilst respecting the body’s natural cycles and rhythms. Balance in all things is key, as is knowing oneself, and yoga mirrors those fundamental principles.

Current public classes:

Join me for a Rocket Yoga course at The Lake House, Ashford, Kent in April 2024. Participants must have at least 6 months’ consistent yoga experience. Dates: Monday, 8, 15 and 22 April 2024. Time: 6:00pm GMT. Pricing: £14 per 75-minute class. What to bring: a yoga mat and, if possible, 2 yoga blocks and a yoga strap. Book here.
